Hey all,
On the 21 December does the prophecy mean the world will actually end or does it mean that there will be catastrophic damage caused but it won't lead to a global wipeout of the planet and species? Also if the world does survive along with some of us humans, will the GCSEs still take part in 2013? I really hope not....

Yes the GCSEs will still go ahead, but due to
the much lower numbers of students taking them the marking structure may have to be
revised.. So YOU get revising

There was no actual prophecy, it is just the end of the Mayan calendar and all that means is that they need to make a new one, we don't say the worlds gonna end every time our calendars run out so why would they?

Well said LP,

If people did some research they would
see that the west has combined two different Mayan texts. One dealt with the
system of time, i.e. the calendar. A totally
separate type of codex which dealt with Mayan prophecies has been combined to give the inaccuracy of 21/12/12. It is only in a Judaeo-Christian religious context that the apocalyptic 'end of days' scenario has ever existed.
