I've only been awake for roughly a year, I was in the Army for 7 years and feel like what I was fighting for has been used to further a wider more sinister agenda, I served in Kosovo in 99 and saw the aftermath of a genocide, I was 19 years old and was never the same again. I volunteered to go to Iraq in 2005 and did 6 months out there. Knowing what I know now, I would never have volunteered, I wanted to 'do my bit' for my country. Then last year, my sister showed me a few YouTube videos of what really happened on 9/11 and I started to question the official narrative. The more I looked the more I was hooked on getting to the truth. I'm glad I'm awake to all the propaganda and skull duggery that goes on to try and feed you what they want to to hear. So, I'm always questioning everything and digging for the facts.

Yeah I know how you feel mate. I turned down the opportunity to work in RAF once I learnt more about 9/11 being an inside job and the so called war on terror.
I would have loved to be able to say that I've defended my country. But the problem for me is.
Who are we really defending it from?

Xbox One
It never turns off but instead switches to low power. This means that the camera and microphone are constantly running and invading privacy within your own home, if you have the Xbox that is.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

You could just unplug it.

Agree5 Disagree0

Would you be arsed unplugging it after every time you used it?

Agree0 Disagree1

Smart phones are always connected to the Internet, and they follow you every where.

Agree1 Disagree1

I do with my current one as the fan won't turn off so I will already be in the habit. Although I understand your concern, was just pointing out you don't Have to have it in all the time

Agree0 Disagree0

That must be annoying with the fan but it is better than letting it burn itself out. Scouse_Pride
Regarding smart phones, I have never owned one as I stopped owning mobiles in 2008 as they are just trackers.
By the way I am very paranoid haha!

The so called terror attack is so very obvious, not sure if this even went on at all.

But never mind all that, folk In London die every day and no one gives a s***, all sorts of ways!
Think about who this is being played out and what will happen next.
all cops will have guns, man can't even be bothered saying the rest.

Murp, I will leave the UK soon forever, it's done, we are ****ed.

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Murp!

It saddens me to hear a long time poster like yourself post this type of thing! I may not agree with everything your posted, but your post have made me ponder quite a bit sometimes, so I hope you're post is said with a pinch of salt!
The uk, yes may have its problems, but look around you brother! Where are you going to go? You may not believe it and that's your entitlement, but this country isn't as bad as we all say it is really! Don't get me wrong, can't stand the torys, but that's another issue! But us uk folk have it better than most on the planet! It may be s***ty sometimes, maybe a lot of the time, but still not the worst place to be! We can demonstrate, voice opinion, vote, love whoever we like, be friends with who we like, gie new things a try! Most country's don't have that! Now I'm not saying everything is rosey in the uk, as its obv far from it! But I'm proud and happy to be a citizen of the United Kingdom, and I let my children know, almost on a daily basis, that we are very lucky to have the things we have!
Anyway mate, don't be too hastey, the call of our shores will always ring when you leave, and you will miss it at some stage!

I ask myself that question sometimes, if I won the lottery would I move abroad? honest answer would be I would probably live abroad a few months out the year, I could not leave for good, like jay mentions there are a hell of a lot worse places than here, what I will say is I fear for the next generation, the last twenty years have changed dramatically and some of the stuff that you can see or watch are truly shocking, I have to get this off my chest how the hell can the media publish pictures of a murderer holding a machete with blood on his hands? to me the way the media has handled this event is to shock and get people angry, de-sensitise us all for the future, I am probably the oldest on here and page 3 was the most daring thing I have seen, but kids could go to the local shop to get sweets and see those images, its not right, so fast forward another 20 years will this be the norm, like football results?
i hope not.

Agree3 Disagree0

With murp on this one all the way. the speed of all these false flags is getting pretty intense, clearly leading upto something I don't want my daughter to bear witness to. sad sad times.

Agree1 Disagree0

Not trying to take a dig here guys, But there is no chance I would ever choose to live in the UK or USA. Travelled to both an admittedly enjoyed myself on holiday, but would never live their. i'm very happy here in my "3rd world" country as the "1st world" countries say! just the fact that there is a camera around every corner and you are being monitored constantly seriously freaks me out! again this is just my preference.

Agree3 Disagree1

Jonesy knowing my luck I would win the lottery spend a few months in the rsa then get frigging attacked by a lion, I do envy your surroundings jonsey maybe you should p-ss everyone of and should put pics were you live.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha Franky, good idea but don't think they have a nature page up here yet among the 100's of other pages, if they did I wouldn't get anything done! i'm Already too addicted to this page and the Liverpool one, I don't think I actually log off at work, just hit refresh haha.

But on a serious note, I would be more scared about the criminal element here, we constantly live in fear of either being car jacked or mugged here. But I've learnt to keep an eye open to avoid such confrontations, we adapt to our surroundings :)

First off, it was sickening what happening in Woolwich.

It seems a bit made up though.

Has anyone seen the itv news last night? Where the boy who recorded the Woolwich murderer was interviewed? They show his 2nd recording when he is shouting at the police- "why did it take you so long to get here? don't you know this mans a british solider?” Yet how could the boy know this so soon after the killing? The victim wasn’t wearing an army uniform.

Also dozens of people at the scene, yet no one has put up a video on you tube of the killers getting shot by police, surely someone must have recorded that.

And has anyone heard the two killers talking about Islam- shouting slogans at all?

Believable4 Unbelievable13

It's not made up it happened and it's just disrespectful to think these guys are anything other than 2 very deluded evil Human beings! There not gov plants it's not a false flag or a conspiracy it's just a very sad story that this is now happening right in the middle of our streets. Maybe the boys just assuming like everyone else by the help for heroes t shirt he was wearing or maybe the lad was a well known soldier in the area? Oh and why didn't anyone video the police shootings see when there's 2 black men running at armed police pointing A Gun & Knife the last thing I'd do was video it I'd much rather keep my Phone in my pocket & make sure I don't get caught in a crossfire!

Agree13 Disagree4

Seriously? Get a grip! No conspiracy here whatsoever! It was a religious attack and nothing more! You can say terrorism, but isn't most terrorism caused by religion! In fact, I'm sure if you check out any act of terror in the last decade, it's all been fuelled by religion! Which is stupid!
We should put an end to religion once and for all!

Agree6 Disagree4

I disagree mate, I think it was very real, did they know it was a soldier?who knows, they help for hero"s t shirt might have been a clue, I really do not know, as for people not putting a video of the two men getting shot, well it might be just me but I would run a mile, this is unprecedented what happened yesterday, no false flag this was the real deal by radicals, until I read up more on why who or what we can debate this later on, one thing is certain though the media coverage and the images shown for kids to see is disgusting which opens another debate for another time, I just feel for the guy and his family, especially now the family as the media vultures will try to pick the wound.

Agree4 Disagree1

Bit rich seeing the same people who bang on about False flag operations immediately saying how this defo isn't. guess it only happens in the us then

Agree6 Disagree3

I agree Franky the 1st reply was mine pretty mush said the same as me mate this is bad and I just really hope it's the end of it. London could be rather wild this weekend with the German invasion I just hope no more innocent people go through something like this in our country.

Rise & Shine

Agree1 Disagree1

There is going be a riot big time! Also that's another 500,000 votes to Ukip and to get out the eu. People are now going to be stepping up to the mark, say what they want to say and do what they want to do, this is going to get messy

Agree2 Disagree1

Look on this guy's timeline:

https://twitter.com/BOYADEE

he was there when it went down, in fact he has supposedly been offered 75k by the media to tell what he saw. there are false flags and also radicals sadly.

Agree2 Disagree0

This is not a false flag even our government could not have dreamed this one up.

This was a horrid act undertaken by two nutters who are obviously disturbed, do you know how many calls the police get in London for stabbings which is why they would have thought at the time of the call that this was another gangland attack.
Having spoken to a few officers when I used to live in London they don't mind that filth stabbing each other which is why if it is true about the 10-15 mins why it may have took longer than you would think to respond to an attack like this, however it is too early to be drawing too many conclusions.
My thoughts are with this young mans family and his 2 year old little girl.

Jonty

Agree4 Disagree3

Just like they couldn't have dreamed 7/7 up Jonty? Not getting on your case mate, just wouldn't put anything past any government. Ryan.

Agree2 Disagree2

Ryan

No problem pal I don't expect everyone to agree just my gut feeling about this one, also wanted to point out that when the police receive a call on a stabbing 99% of the time it's some young gang member who they would rather not survive.

Jonty

Agree2 Disagree0

This is to the unnamed poster who mentions when it is on our doorstep, if you come often on this site most of us know what is happening in the places you have mentioned and we know that false flags do happen like 7/7 but this is so way off the mark its untrue, if we accept the western allies particularly the usa and uk are funding uprisings that are killing innocent muslims then we also have to accept that we are going to create extreme muslim radicals.

Agree0 Disagree1

Unamed poster!

What goes on in the country's you mention is terrorism! Our troops (wherever they may be), are there for the benifit of the ordinary citizen, trying to take democracy to these places, and to give them the same opportunitys we have! I know most on here won't agree with me, but that's my opinion and I'm proud we are trying to do so! But like I said, only my personal opinion!
I'm as disgusted with acts like the London atrocity as I am with any other destination suffering such brutality!
On another note, you are talking about people on here saying this or that about s***, but different when on their own doorstep! The people who visit this site merely post their opinion, and the more established posters are happy to discuss their own opinion!
So I'll ask you as I would anyone else!
Where is the evidence of this tragic killing that leans toward a false flag or conspiracy? If you are worth your salt, you'll at least try and show or share info you hae so we can all check out why you suggest such an idea!
Never be swayed by anyone, until the evidence convinces YOU, and only YOU! Then, if you are wrong, you can put your hands up as say you got it wrong, instead of blaming a bad source!

most people on here, like frankyscouser, or captain needa will happily discuss their views, and if presented with proper evidence, would happily change their view, but like I said, only with PROPER evidence!

Peace

Jay
Glasgow

Ps! Not everything that happens is a conspiracy mate, there may be some s*** that doesn't add up, but you have to ask yourself! Why would the authority's share everything they know with us? That would give their game away, and let future terrorists, murderers or whatever, more info on how to avoid being caught! It's not easy, but sometimes, we have to trust them!

Agree2 Disagree2

To be completely honest Jonty I don't know what to make of this yet. I'm still trying to figure it out and knowing me it'll take a while. It took me six months to be sure Sandy Hook was a false flag. It's too early to say on this one, but in the meantime I'm very interested to hear what you and all the other regular posters here have to say. Respect to all. Ryan.

Agree0 Disagree0

Our troops are there for the benefit of the ordinary citizen etc...

Honestly jay I can't believe you said that and meant it.

That is the most ignorant and naive thing I have read here for a long time.

Ryan.

Agree2 Disagree2

Wasn't aware there was scientific evidence that provess conspiracy!
Please do share! Lol
you must be taking the piss, cause we've all seen the blood, and I'm sure you know it was there and you've indeed seen it! I'm guessing you are nothing more than someone trying to take the piss with the people who regularly visit this site! You must be, no one has a clue what you are talking about! Even the ed hasn't said a word about this, and me and who're the editor may be may not agree on everything, but I have enough respect for them to believe that if there was some solid proof of something dodgy, they will at least leave a link for u to make your own mind up! So I'm also guessing, te ed has done his/her homework on this, and so far have found nothing worth sharing!
Don't get me wrong, u had me for a bit there, but I can't take what u are saying seriously!

Ps! If u r not takin the piss, you should put up whatever it is you are looking at so everyone can see what you are on about! You can't come on here ranting, and backing it up with an un-named poster rant with no evidence!

Agree1 Disagree1

Well unnamed poster I can only speak for myself and say I have never chopped up anyone so I can not comment on how much blood there should be, plus there was a blood trail (i will put the link at the bottom) plus there is footage of the the two men charging the police before they got shot which I seen on sky news a hour ago, I am the most skeptical person about any terror event but this is not one of them.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhtV7qkuNnk

Agree2 Disagree1

Like I said mate! I don't expect anyone to agree with my views, because they are MY views! You talk an awful lot of game with no evidence as well bud, very unconvincing!
I believe out troops are doing what they can in hope of helping others! Just what do you think is going on? Take it you've viewed a few vids on YouTube and went with conspiracy because a few persons with nothing better to do has added 2 + 2 and got 5 with some flashy graphics and haunting music! Lol
Get a ****in grip!

Glasgow

Ps! Simpy responding with the type of decency you have shown good sir! {Ed001's Note - strange views you have, considering democracy should be something you choose, not something forced on you.}

Agree0 Disagree1

To be fair to Franky there are other arguments.
1. The amount of blood depends on what happened and when, as far as I can tell the majority and I cringe while typing this of the hacking happened when the poor guy was dragged into the middle of the road
2. The majority of people at first thought it was a traffic accident and that (read the eye witness accounts) the killers where trying to give first aid to the guy.
3. The actual attack would have been quick and then the realisation of what happened would have taken time to sink in, I doubt the majority of us would of on first sight of such attack would instantly get out our mobiles and start filming.
4. Finally when the police arrive on site with guns you take cover and quickly.
Not saying I, Franky or anybody else is right and you never know in six months we might be eating our words but one thing is for sure in my mind this feels nothing like 9/11.

I will keep an open mind on this one but I just cannot see the conspiracy and will calmly debate the incident until proved otherwise.

Jonty

Agree1 Disagree0

Listen mate let's say we agree to disagree and if any evidence in the future comes off that it was a false flag I will hold my hands up and say you were right all along, to the unnamed poster.

Agree1 Disagree0

Well ed! Democracy is what's best for the ordinary person. And most of these places are aching for the right to vote and to have democracy! I take it with your snide comment you don't support our troops?

So what do you make of the incident?
And what are you suggesting our troops are really up to?

Peace

Jay
Glasgow

Ps! Again ed, you seem to like posting on my comments and no one else's! Why is this? You agree with everyone else's views but mine? {Ed001's Note - I don't edit this site mostly, and your comments are bizarre, always trying to tell others what is best, rather than giving an opinion and letting them decide. Democracy is best for the ordinary person, for instance. How is it best? Because it gives them a false impression of being able to make a difference maybe? It certainly doesn't give them any real power, as the way the vote goes will mostly be determined by the media. Who owns the media? Oh that's right, it is the rich and powerful!
As for supporting our troops, I am not sure in what way they are ours? I certainly don't want them in Afghanistan fighting to protect opium crops or in the Gulf fighting to protect big businesses interest in oil. If they were truly ours, they would be at home looking to protect us, not out there prosecuting illegal wars which are seeing my friends dying for a lie.
As for the incident, I have no idea, the whole thing is bizarre. If people are truly standing round filming someone being chopped up and not backing away when a guy with blood on his hands, holding a machete approaches them, then our society has completely failed. I do find it very strange that people would do that, when the natural reaction is to edge away from a threat or to attack it. The flee or fight reaction is a very strong survival instinct that is ingrained in us, so why did that not appear?
By the way, there was nothing snide about my comment. At least I have the common courtesy to allow people to choose their own beliefs, rather than constantly trying to force mine on others. Anyone who signs off with peace should really no better. And your paranoia is worrying, considering I only replied to one post of yours, when you have posted a multiple number in this thread alone.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Can I just ask what the he'll is a false flag?
Cheers Belfast boy

Agree1 Disagree0

False flag means it is staged or planned mate. not by terrorist but by factions of our government/agencies/mi6 {Ed001's Note - it originates from when ships would fly a flag pretending to be one of your own ships and then attack you. It just means the attacker is not actually of the origin that it pretends to be.}

Agree0 Disagree0

For those that believe this heinous attack on a defenceless man to be a false flag, I think you need to reassess the evidence available. Firstly, there is blood to the right of the car they ran the poor lad over in (plenty of it, some obscured from view in certain pictures) and by the time they had dragged him in to the road, his body had bled out. Secondly, as others have pointed out here, people thought it was an accident and that the two men were giving him first aid. This was before they noticed the knife and machete. It is just a sickening act of violence from two seriously deranged men, nothing more and nothing less. Society has become so violent in the last twenty years or so, I fear for future generations.
spudv {Ed001's Note - so how do you explain a reportedly beheaded man being given comfort by a passer by? Surely she would have noticed the head was not attached to the body? It is a genuine question, as I really don't understand any of this, it is all so bizarre how they could all be stood around watching yet eye witness reports claimed there was a gun and it was fired. In my experience, the average joe runs for cover when a gun is fired, not gathers to watch.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Jay I'm just amazed that anyone thinks British troops are there

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank you Jay for your balanced and objective response. If you think British troops are in Afghanistan and Iraq to help the ordinary citizen then you clearly are a sponge who willingly absorbs the propaganda from the mainstream media without question. They are not there to help little old ladies across the street pal. Thank you also for reading my previous posts too. Sadly your views sound very much like all the other sheeple who can't tell the difference between what they are told and what they think. You are always sounding off getting upset with anyone who doesn't agree with you and it makes for great entertainment especially when you sign off with 'peace'. Enjoy your happy meal 'bud''. You would be dangerous if you had a brain.
I'm off to scour YouTube now for some of that thumping music and flashy graphics lol!

Ryan.

Ryan.

Agree1 Disagree0

Ed001- Your wording says it all - reportedly. There is no doubt that the press have, unashamedly, sensationalised the entire story. Admittedly, they can only go by eye witness accounts but they have been slow to push forward the truth. The two bags attempted to behead and disembowel their victim after running him over. This would make sense of why people knelt over the lad to comfort him, without reeling back in horror. They must have cut him up enough for him to lose all his blood (press pictures show a large pool of blood to the right of the car) and then dragged him in to the road. With regards to the gun shots, as far as I'm aware (and I could be wrong) the only shots were fired by the police after one of the murderers fired at them. Allegedly, his gun back fired and either blew off his own hand or his finger. I love a good conspiracy as much as you guys but I just don't see it in this instance. This is just another example of how religion can twist a persons mind, in my opinion anyway. {Ed001's Note - it still doesn't explain a thing to me, I have seen people's reactions to a man carrying large blades with blood on his hands. It isn't to casually walk past like nothing is going on, as happened clearly in the video. It isn't to gather around to watch, with no sign of recoiling away whenever he gets close. I know we, as a society, are becoming inured to violence to others, but we still have that natural fear instinct when our own life is potentially endangered. None of the people around showed that response at all. It is very weird, disturbing in fact.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ryan mate everyone is entitled to there opinion, like you I agree I think our brave soldiers on the front line are being treated like a piece of meat to be used but like like my mate who wrote a post (liverpool19) he was actually there on the front line and now he has only just realised he was getting played, jay has been a regular for a few good years and makes a lot of valid points.

Agree0 Disagree0

Edd I get were you are coming from with the reactions of a man wielding a meat cleaver with blood over his hands and people walking past him, to be honest I would be in shock and I would avoid the place like the plague but on the other hand it could be a bit of stockholm syndrome were they think if they run they will be chased down and be the next victim the same with the people using camera phones and if he said record him, mate my camera phone is on and I am recording, as for the poor lads head being chopped off it could have been hanging on by a thread and you do get people on trauma accidents who do stuff I could never ever do, I am just waiting for more news to join the dots and cross the t"s.

Agree1 Disagree0

Fair comment Franky, yet again the voice of reason here. I just think Jay gets a bit carried away sometimes and likes to pontificate but doesn't like being questioned. I enjoy reading his posts, and some are well put together, but on this thread we're not going to agree. Ryan.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree Ed001 that some things seem a bit odd, especially the reaction of the other people, but I suppose we all act differently when the push comes to the shove. The true facts will come out over the next few days. Two more have been detained by police, a male and a female, to help their inquiries. The plot thickens

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair enough mate no doubt somewhere down the line we will all disagree with each other.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers franky!

well Ryan, we may not agree on everything, but that wee cheeky comment of yours " didn't go down to well with me, but hey, that's your opinion! Also, tad hypocritical to call me a sponge, when most your "evidence" comes from youtube or psuedo sights!

are you one of those guys who believes things like the galactic federation? if you are, then there's no point in debating further, because if you believe things like that, then I've no hope for you!

It was very odd the women who just walked passed as nothing had happened however having lived in London for six years it does not surprise me it is a very selfish place with not many people taking note of what is going on around and being stuck in their own little world, even I was guilty of that towards the end, I kid you not I have seen a few things and people just kept walking by as nothing had happened more are reflection on society more than anything else.

Jonty, isn't it a bit harsh to say that the Police would rather these young gang members kill each other? I believe everyone deserves a chance in life, if the Police are not willing to protect the public, gang members or otherwise, then what use are they? There are so many ex gang members who have gone on to become decent people making a good living and contributing to society. I hope what you say is not true because then I would lose all hope in the Met.

Uriah

Agree0 Disagree0

By the way, the rapper who happened to witness all of this, 'Boya Dee', apparently tweeted in real time the events that took place. He says that he saw a man's head get chopped off and it was unlike anything he had ever seen before. Clearly a deluded individual as no such thing happened. I suppose the Doctors/Biologists/Psychologists are all going to come out in his defence and say that in a time of shock the human brain witnesses many surreal things that actually never happened. Yeah, keep sprouting that filth to yourself.

Uriah

Agree0 Disagree0

Uriah

I agree it is harsh reality but that is what the Police have to contend with they don't have the resources, I don't think it harsh that I publish it though as that's what the Police do they can't be everywhere at the same time, look at it from their point of view do they divert resources to those who chose a life of violence or to the city goers that create the wealth, not saying its right its just the way it is.

I wonder what the powers at be would do if we all created our own source of electricty?. I use this is as an example of how the main necessaties we require in life are taxed, and quite expensive. Also they can raise the prices whenever they see fit?. There is more water on earth than land. Why are we being charged for it?. If so it shouldn't be that much. Is their not a cost effienct way to clean water?. It has to start somewhere why not get them where it hurts. More than likely they would find a way to charge me or black ball me, if I had the answer. Just some interesting thoughts to think about

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I watched a program once about a man that had a small stream running through his garden. He was an engineer, and constructed a small hydro-generator which produced enough electricity to run his house, and even sell some back to the national grid.

This obviously isn't something that each of us could do, but does prove there are alternative methods.

I'm waiting for the day the blueprints for the Tesla generator resurface and we can each have free, unlimited energy in our homes! (Think it'll be a long wait. )

Agree0 Disagree0

I think I saw that doc too. Wasn't he a farmer? I would love to have my own source of electricity. I've watched some youtube documentaries on how it's done, but I don't have the engineering skill required. Solar is great but it seems mostly for hot water. I used to think wind farms were the answer until I watched Windfall.

Hi Guys, I usually post on the football sites however, I think I said the other night that I have a huge interest in conspiracies/theories from JFK to MLK to 9/11 to 7/7. I CAN HONESTLY SAY that the worst thing I have seen in my life (I am 40) is 9/11. However, I think the MOST DISTURBING THING that has happened randomly?!! is the case of Madeleine McCann. I have been watching this case from week one. AND IT STINKS! I saw a couple of posts on here yesterday re the guy from SA. watched the tv clip of Kate saying he 'wasn't credible'. but she will fly away to India for a 'suspected sighting'! As we say in Scotland. PISH! Hopefully THE TRUTH WILL OUT! Davie.

Reading between the lines there will be a accused named soon, whether it is the real culprit that is a different subject.

Regarding the Woolwich butchering.
Bernard Hogan-Howe who is commissioner of the met has said "they will work tirelessly to uncover why this occurred" am I the only person that doesn't believe that the police are incapable of dealing with this matter. I am not saying that our police force is incompetent but it is overly restricted by an incompetent government who are too image conscious. What we need to do is send out a strong deterrent to all of these wannabe lunatics who will go to any extremes to destabilise our country. I saw the terrorist discussing how in his land woman face this sort of savagery, yet he had a blatant cockney accent. He is not an Islamic extremist he is a person who has heightened racial tensions in our country. I believe that religion is man made and used by certain people to install fear and for psychopaths to use as an excuse when the commit heinous acts.

Who would have a blanket ban on indoctrination through religion? If you believe then fine, when you die your dated beliefs can go into the next world with you, but no more children should be victims of fantasy.

I don't know, I think we have all discussed at length what the police and governments do or don't do, however despite this you cannot legislate for some random nutters doing something like this.

I don't think there is a conspiracy with this one however some may disagree, I just feel sorry for the victim that is no way to go.

As for the religious argument I agree the world would be a better place without it however just like many other things it has been twisted into a method of control be it fear or belief when it could be used to the good of mankind.

It wasn't religion that invaded Iraq and Afghanistan, causing hundreds of thousands deaths. However, this coming weekend, in churches up and down the land, it will be religion that helps millions come to terms with yesterdays events and to find the strength to face another week of misery. And no, I'm not religious, but I do respect what it provides to those who are.

What I find strange about yesterday's killers is that they did not appear drunk, high or born outside the UK. Nor did they appear to be Somali in origin, as some outlets stated. What they were, perhaps, is desperate. We live in a time when our politicians are hell bent on creating desperate people.

Evil persons. Pure undiluted evil. I'm disappointed they are still alive, but I can only hope someone gets to them in prison. Repeatedly.

No Pablo! Human compassion will help people deal with this! Why is there this need to thank god or turn to god all the time? We don't need to do that, anything we have achieved as a species and will achieve will be down to human progress! No imaginary invisible never seen before diets needed! Have faith in your human decency and fellow man, which isn't easy sometimes I'll admit! But please, let's stop the god s****! It helps no one! People believe it helps them, but it doesn't, people that get through difficult times will say, oh thank god, or god helped me, when in fact they should be patting themselves on the back or thanking other human beings who are actually here in reality and making a difference! Religion will slow you down my good man, let it go, like you did with Santa and the tooth fairy, as they are all one in the same!

I stopped believing God by the age of 9 Jay, but it hasn't stopped me taking a friend to church and observing what it appears to provide everyday people with.

If you haven't got religion then you're believing in some other folly, like progress, which is where you appear to sit. Believing in progress is a means to deny your mortality and to deny that we will someday be better than what we've always been: Humans, cravers of power and murder.

The Tooth Fairy owes me money.

Jay,

It's not as simple as you think to just drop religion. Humanity has had some form of religion as part of its support structure for as long can be documented. Unfortunately, as I see it, a majority of the planet believe in some form of mystical overlord. They believe he (god forbid it might be female :-)) will help them in times of trouble and is solely responsible for all that is good in the world. I see where you are coming from but, as Pablo rightly points out, many people this weekend will turn to a god for comfort. I agree people and the world as a whole would be better off if it could see the trap religion creates but I don't think it will be in our time. Other people will look to blame religion for the murder yesterday but that too is a trap. Anyone, who chooses to do what they did to another human being should be considered outside of humanity and treated as such. What religion they claim to represent makes no difference to me. What they did was inhumane and they don't deserve to be considered part of humanity.

I understand it helps some people! But it shouldn't Pablo! The gift of life and wonder of the universe should be enough for anyone! A clear night sky, a cheeky cold breeze on a warm summers day, children laughing etc.
But there is still this strange urge to turn to a diety that has no single shred of evidence suggesting such things should be believed! It sickens me!
And not all humans crave the things you speak of, just like not all Muslims are murderers!
Cheers for the welcome back captain!
