Long term reader, minimal poster, asking in confidence :) anyone know of any good sites or videos on the concept of privatised/ privatized prisons? can remember reading a lengthy report on how bad things have got within the justice system in the States, but can't for the life of me remember the link

Not really looked at this before but sounds interesting, read something on the line that private prisons need to be guaranteed 90 per cent of the cells full and judges are getting bribed to send kids/adults to prison for minor offenses, here is a link.

Not really looked at this before, what I have read is that private prison want to be guaranteed that 90 per cent of the prison is filled up with inmates, need to read up on this a bit more, here is a short you tube clip that is about dodgy judges who get paid cash by the the private prison sector to keep filling up the cells.

Thanks guys, found some interesting clips on youtube also. The most profitable real estate in America they're now calling these prisons. They're actually floated on the stock market, and can only repay investors when they are being filled with prisoners. One of the few recession proof business models around! They are currently being discussed to come into effect in the UK and Ireland
