They took are freedom of speech long ago sickings me like that term has no meaning no more i never knew it got revoked!
Jedimindtricks

Agree3 Disagree0

What? Calling some one a n***er and abusing them is not worthy of a prison sentence? You say that in public and you'll be nicked. It's no different on social media sites.

Agree3 Disagree2

Wait can anyone explain to me why freedom of speech doesnt exist? It just died!
Jedimindtricks

Agree2 Disagree0

No thats not what hes saying that guy deserves to rott we are all humans but you cannot say what you want anymore! No one should be looked down on togetherness is the key we should be more humble
Jedimindtricks

"but jailing him ffs are they fo real?what happend to freedom of speech?ffs this is getting like judge dredd every day."

That sounds like he's surprised to see a jail sentence.

What ever he meant, i hope they continue to do it with "keyboard warriors" to deter potential offenders. It's a joke what i come across on Twitter, absolute vile stuff.

Agree2 Disagree0

Yeah i know what you mean mate frankyscouse aint that kind of guy hes just asking what did happen to freedom of speech i think that racial comments and vile comments cannot be classes of
Freedom of speach becuse they take somones freedom away to be who they are and thats a sick thing to do it really is why couldnt

Agree0 Disagree0

So what punishment if any would you have meted out franky?
NoneTheWiser

Agree0 Disagree0

Stoned to death for racial abuse and the victim casts the first stone
Jedimindtricks {Ed001's Note - I am not sure that allowing him to smoke himself to death would be an approp....oh wait, sorry, just realised what you meant, ooops!}

Agree2 Disagree0

In my opinon the feller should have been charged done community service and if they could enforce it banned from social network sites or even the internet(tough ask i know)but to inprison him wtf next?evryoone who gets caught mouthing a obsenity on big brother cameras around the uk gets jail?lets face facts with the garage petrol fiasco a few people might get jail now,i was at hillsbough and have heard the sick chants ever since, plus i have been on the kop as a kid when the munich song was song,i think both songs are disgusting and vile, but would i want everyone inprisoned for singing it?NO, ban them yes, this feller who is doing time now has opened a can of worms for the future belive me.
frankyscouse

Jedimindtricks your journey to the dark side is complete.....
Stoned to death? I must admit after listening to one or two albums he'll want to commit harikari!
NoneTheWiser

Agree3 Disagree0

I dont know if this is the same but where im from 'dundee' these two people said on facebook for a bit of humour lets start riots during the england riots and the next day they were banged up 12 months in jail each the guys were vile people anyway but are freedom of speach has been lost without it we will be watching everything we say till we cant say alot!
Jedimindtricks

Agree3 Disagree0

Very interesting and forthright opinion.i was only interested whether you would still punish him, as you were referring to his freedom of speech. But if you would punish him, it's irrespective of what punishment he gets because his freedom of speech would still be violated.
I'm of a similar age to you and for various reasons I only started going to games in the late 80's when Barnes and co reigned supreme(ah Supremes good old Diana).
Barnes endured so much racism it was untrue and on a night out once I happened to end up having a few drinks with him and asked him how he coped. He told me that he took it as a backhanded compliment because he knew the fans were trying to wind him up to put him off his game. It actually worked in reverse.
Anyway my point is we as football fans know how emotive a sport it is. The red mist comes on, the ref makes a woeful decision and all of a sudden the air is full of expletives and that's just from me!
But once we hit that racism, munich level etc then action should be taken.
Hurtful words often lead to hurtful actions. Hurtful actions often lead to retaliation. Retaliation often leads to war!
I am all for freedom of speech as it is what our country stands for, however there must be limitations? NoneTheWiser

Agree1 Disagree0

Well it during a time of heightened tensions!
It might have been attempts at humour but it is incitement nonetheless.
There are some people out there that wouldn't have seen any humour there, taking it at face value and would have been
conspiring to riot. These are the type of people that believe Coronation Street is real life.

This will lead on to more things taken from us a mass, protes about something alls it needs a obsenity and the police will be picking up anyone, listen i am not saying this guy is inocent,he prob thick as two short planks, but come on jail?little things like this will become the norm soon, while people who tell the public to stock up on petrol and causes a woman who would never do it normally get burned, will he go to prison?NO,how about bush/blair leading us in to a unfair war , will they do time?NO,how about a pedo who has been known to mess around with kids and still allowed to live near a school,it makes me sick,we all know a fair few judges and magisteries have tendincies but are they brought to justice?NO.LETS GET BEHIND THE REAL ISSUES, NOT A THICK CLOWN ON A SOCIAL NETWORK SITE.
FRANKYSCOUSE DOING MORE FRIGGING DIGGING

Agree2 Disagree0

That makes sense nonethewiser but these people were big headed nothings the type of people who think they can fight anyone haha karma brought them down to earth! Overthrow the goverment freedom is our Request always has been might asways will be
Jedimindtricks

Agree0 Disagree0

Just because the MP, Blair/Bush and the paedo won't do time, it doesn't mean they shouldn't have!
Surely we have to draw a line in the sand somewhere and let people know what the result will be?
Yes all this crap could be the pre cursor to Marshall law but who knows.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yous thinking about calling the A-team aswell? We need new laws that are complete and not conditionaled
Jedimindtricks

Agree1 Disagree0

Well that's how they sneak these measures in, under the guise of public interest with the intent of removing freedom / tightening control.

We build up de-fence without realising it imprisons us.

TRP.

Agree1 Disagree0

Does the fact the guy got 56 days in jail for his vile veiws mean john terry if found guilty will get the same? I some how doubt it as JT is rich, plays for england and has the best solictors money can buy and friends in high places.

There's a good song lately by an Irish musician called Bressie...the song is called Animals... very good song and video showing police brutality against people protesting against the likes or goldman sachs and that...worth a look on youtube if any of ye are interested. Anyways, Bressie would be a big artist here in Ireland...ye may have heard of him too...and his songs get played on tv and the radio a lot...but this particular song i have heard only once on the radio and have never seen it on the tv...its like it was censored out by the media and that!

Edd why are allowing scientologists to advertise on this site? Folk on here are to switched on to fall for their psychobabble.
In my oppinion they are as bad if not part of the illuminati. Regards bep {Ed001's Note - what are you talking about? Where are they advertising?}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

They where one of four adds near the top of the site...
They appear to have been replaced, they where under the add for kilcoyne lawyers.
Good on you if you have removed it !
Regards bep. {Ed001's Note - I hadn't because I had not seen it before, we are going to block it from appearing now, it is Adsense that decide the ones shown. We can only block specific URLs, any like that you see, if you right click and copy the url and send it to us, we can then block it more easily. Everybody tends to see different ads depending on their browser history and location determined by the cookies etc.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers edd.
Keep up the good work.
Regards bep {Ed001's Note - no worries mate, I would rather not have to run ads at all, in a perfect world!}

I have just watched this weeks edition of UK column news and the penny dropped ! I posted last week regarding in the future the elite will be taxing fresh air when the oil runs out, however I was wrong, they allready are. It seems that road tax was abolished in the 1930's by Winston Churchill, who was according to historians 'Thick as theives' with one of the Rothschild bankers. What we pay these days to the DVLA is a tax on emissions which goes up as the size of an engine does. Local taxes are supposed to pay for the good upkeep of roads ( 2 words POT HOLE ) but we still call the duty we pay road tax. The DVLA make over 20million a year, what is this money for and who gets it ? These days the son of Evelyn de Rothschild spends his whole life banging on about climate change and carbon taxes and I know the whole family are pushing for these sorts of taxes, so it seems we are allready being taxed on air and according to Uk Column news the drive towards privatisation of the roads is being made by the Rothschild's, which makes sense to me as I believe they dictate the government from the shadows. For those of you who are into symbolism, DVLA is another logo in a pyramid, makes you think........

Matt i can see in within 20 years with the more cars on the road that if your a vip or elite or rich you will able to drive on your own stretch of the motorway with prob no speed limit and no cameras, while the rest will be gridlocked.
frankyscouse

Agree5 Disagree2

I can see it going that way too frankyscouse people need to open there eyes have petrol stations In england dryed up? now that the media scared the country theres a few in scotland that have ran out how long will the strike last for?

Jedimindtricks

Agree2 Disagree0

A work colleague told me about the pie tax at first I didn't believe him, I should have known better . If you want to enjoy a pie at hotter than room temperature you have to pay a 20% tax, What the F**k! What does this 20% tax go towards it's just gone crazy. I'd like to know how much of actual taxes i pay every year on wages, food, fuel, road tax, cigarettes, and of course pies. I guess it's cold pies from now on

Big D

Agree0 Disagree0

Big d good point its getting ridiculas the goverment siphons money off us all with the media at there helm they can make the
average person do what they say, the people who run this country were brought
up in wealth how do they know what its like being poor there only helping thereselfs and not the people living through the struggle the people that really need it heart goes out to people in tough times just trying to get by

Jedimindtricks

Agree0 Disagree0

Pasty tax is a strange one. It turns out that some hot foods are taxed (like your average McDonalds) but things like a pasty aint. No whilst I agree its a petty thing to tax I suppose there is an inequity there somewhere.
I don't agree that just because some of the cabinet are perceived as 'toffs' in affects their ability to govern. After all Ed Milliband is hardly a man of the people with his background, is he?
