Yeah i heard of a few stories in Ireland about fairy forts.. But i personally never seen one even though there is rumours of a good few in sligo not to far away from my home.. But yet again irish stories are mainly myths lol

I remember the story in America of some drunk rednecks phoning the police because they'd found pixies in their garden, the police arrived to find 5 owls with bullet holes all over their bodies

To Irish red, have to say I disagree with you about fairy forts as I'm originally from doneraile but moved over here when I was 15, and we had a house near a fairy fort which strange things would happen and we didn't feel to comfortable in that house and also the local farmer had cut a hawthorne in the month of may by accident and his trailor on his tractor flew up behind him and landed on top of him so I'm very suspicious towards fairy forts, and also with the banshee as I have myself heard the whaling of her when my grandmother was about to die but I agree with most of the stories e.g. Leprechauns although as a child it was great hearing stories but when you are older you do realise most arnt real. At the risk of sounding stupid - what is a Fairy Fort?

Agree1 Disagree0

Geordie-- I never dismissed them i just said most Irish stories are based from generations ago. So the stories most likely changed over time. But i personally dont believe in fairy forts but i personally wouldnt go looking for one incase something does happen. Beter to be safe than sorry..

Yeah sorry RED I misread you're comment and you are entitled to you're opinion and I respect that even if its not the same as mine but yeah I'm very wary around them or if there is any near me when I go back to see family but if I'm honest I still love the old stories whether real or not they are fun geordie jonty

Agree0 Disagree0

Ahh no problemo mate.. Yeah i personally wouldnt risk going near them (if there real).. But have to agree 100% about the stories the stories can be enjoying !
