@edd33, you said in a previous post down the page that you were going to expand your consciousness, I'm also in to that. What activities are good for expanding your consciousness?

{Ed033's Note - i never said, i was going to expand my consciousness. i have no idea how to do that except for gaining more knowledge. Maybe others have an idea how to expand consciousness.

I prefer vodka, classical music and a good book.

Think it was Melbourne who said that. Hallucagenics, reading, meditation who knows?

I've only recently discovered my fondness for classical music Kim, and have to say it helps me drift away into distant thoughts a lot more effectively than modern pop music etc. Something more primal about it. I also like to listen to the odd piece of chanting or tribal music if I feel the need to be at one with myself and to have a good think.

By far the most effective way to expand your consciousness is through the use of plants. Psilocybin mushrooms are great tools to help shed ego and explore your consciousness, but aren't for everyone. If you manage your consciousness well on a day to day basis, they will bring you nothing but clarity and perspective. Shouldn't be abused and I recommend use only when you need an objective look at life, or when wanting to explore your consciousness.

Other tools include meditation, floatation tanks, sensory deprevation tanks, forms of yoga and mindfulness. All take different levels of mastering but all have massive benefits. My suggestion if you choose to use plants is to be in a safe dark environment, maybe your room, with a smallish dose (2-3 grams).

Yes classical is so much better. Also Chinese music and one time I was out shopping and there were some native Americans possibly Navajo doing dome street performance. Very relaxing music and chanting. I'll pass on the drugs though.

Will have to check out some Chinese music when I get the chance then.

Sorry ed my mistake, I try to read a book a day or at least a fair chunk of one. Knowledge is king in this world, I heard a saying that sticks with me "the more you learn the more you earn" hope you guys try it and I hope it helps.

Melbourne, that's the route I take and it's unbelievable. I remember my first hit of vaped dmt. Oh my god I saw God and outer space visions and ascended beings. And it doesn't stop there. the afterglow is a month long pure unadulterated happiness and a real feeling of privilege. It's so easy to pull from bark as well. Ayahuasca route is also awesome but very full on. you need to book a weekend off and always always fast before.

Sensory deprivation tanks? You do know they were used by the kgb as an interrogation technique? Far more effective than torture. Sorry digressing a bit there.

Music fits the mood. I find Beethoven and Mozart work quite well.

Having had many of the best nights of my life on pills and mdma and having such a fondness for weed I always assumed I would enjoy mushrooms. But my first trip was a horror show (even though it started well) and I've tried it a few times since but always ended in a bad trip, almost like I unlocked the door to that negative feeling the first time round. It may not have helped that my first time was to take 2 large doses of strong foreign shrooms, either from Hawaii or Mexico, I forget which. Since then even the local species end up in a bad trip just not so extreme. The one interesting thing I noticed was after that experience I had unlocked the ability to trip when taking large amounts of mdma, really vivid changes in perception and colour but always positive - unlike my experiences on mushrooms. I always wondered why that was but never looked into it thoroughly, it was just like a switch had occurred in my brain.

I'm going away next year and will have the opportunity to try ayahuasca but I'm thinking its not a great idea given my previous experiences with natural hallucinogens. Is it of a similar effect?

I can however see how shrooms etc. can be of benefit in terms introspectively analysing ones self because I did see things in myself that I had never noticed before. Just a shame it usually ended badly!

Beethoven and Mozart of course, lots of js Bach pieces too. I like more modern classical also - some of Vaughan Williams pieces are incredible and perfect for relaxing or reading.

I turned 30 less than a year ago and almost found that I liked classical music overnight. Just found myself flicking to classic fm in the car and leaving it on! I find I helps with de-stressing, concentration and just having a good long think about things (pondering).

Boys I think ye are confusing consciousness with getting stoned out of yer head,ye are tripping,
Music is good for drifting away, what ye are talking about can be dangerous for someone with a weak mind, most people would get freaked out from them plants,
Lads do ye know what's great for the mind body and soul, exercise take up something you have never done before and start small,as the weeks go by and you feel yourself getting fitter it's a great high.
I played sport all my life but now I'm in the 40s I took up cycling last year great for the head,I do sportives cycle for charities,it's great deadly buzz when your finished,I never thought cycling was for me but I get a great high from it,

Yes Kim. I'm sure your aware they can also be used for exploring your mind also through lack of stimulation so you're forced to deal with what's happening inside your head rather then on outside distractions

Leahy I will admit that for me it was purely recreational, at the time, nothing more to it. But plenty of people do take these substances responsibly and to expand their consciousness, as Melbourne and growbun will tell you.

I'm assuming you have tried it seeing as you seem to think it doesn't work?

Exercise is great for releasing endorphins and I'm sure most people know that its good to keep fit and active. Both activities are in no way mutually exclusive though.

Mushrooms can be a dark hole honey, I made the mistake of doing 2000 between three my first go and well I shivered and cried. Liberty caps are pretty much as strong a mushie as you can get per gram. If you fancy an introduction into dmt I suggest you try and get hold of some changa and mix it up with a bit of MJ and vape it. You will see the Aztec patterns but not breakthrough (once you breakthrough whoa) and I must strongly reinforce leahy s point if you have demons hallucinogenic scan make a boy out of you or a man?!

HoneyBadger, I was trekking in Argentina when I was in my twenties. to make a long story short we came across a little village. the chief welcomed U.S. and they were in the middle of some ritual. we knew they were out of it by looking at them and they offered us this root.

I knew it would take us out of reality for a while, so myself and two others sat down and took this root. for 12 hours I couldn't see stars but actually thought I was one. I saw things that night you couldn't even dream of. one of the boys with me got on a plane two days later he got freaked over it and he hasn't left Ireland since, now everyone I meet him we laugh about it.

It must be a cultural age thing.

It's a fair point leahy. It really is horses for courses. I'm a firm believer of regretting the things I have done rather than the things I haven't peace 😝
