Scottish independence, can any of you see it happening soon?

Ramsey1984

{Ed033's Note - The Scottish people in general don't want Westminster telling them what to do, but in general would love the EU telling them what to do.

So, if Brexit is a real event and the EU don't control UK, then the EU would want 'Scottish Independence' as then the Scottish will immediately ask to join the EU. However, the UK government would probably not allow another vote on Scottish independence any time soon.

However, if Brexit is a scam or UK 'Remain', then Scotland would actually be controlled by the EU anyway so there would be no need for Scottish Independence.

I can understand why many Scots, if independence was won, would prefer to remain under the umbrella of a European Union, it provides a level of perceived security and a framework and support for navigating how we manage our separation and growth going forward. I'm sure there is also a belief that however we are treated by Europe, it won't be as bad as what has been endured under the governance of Westminster.

Personally I'd like to say bye to both, investigate forming some sort of a Scandinavian alliance and negotiate re-entry to Europe on our own terms but hey-ho, given we couldn't even kick up a fuss about the obvious rigging of the last vote, maybe I'm being overly optimistic.

It is highly likely in the event of Brexit that there would be a referendum on a united Ireland north and south. Ordinarily you could be fairly sure the north would reject it, but in a post Bexit scenario that might not be the case. So ironically a successful Brexit could fracture the so called UK very badly. Scotland, and Northern Ireland in particular, are two reasons why Brexit cannot happen, unless the people who are trying to engineer Brexit wanted that scenario from the beginning.

The eu have told scotland they can't join them numerous times.

4.) 31 Jan 2019 15:21:51
In a post Brexit Britain, Scotland will probably push for a second referendum and if successful, they could apply for EU membership and almost certainly the EU would welcome them.

5.) 05 Feb 2019 21:48:47
Cant see it rian. The eu has said many times already.

6.) 07 Feb 2019 10:37:54
That is incorrect P1. It's simply the BS spouted by the remain camp in the run up to the referendum. I think it was the Guardian that said the Spanish would Veto entry for Scotland but it was reported in the Independent that the Spanish said no such thing. Also more recently, German MEP Elmar Brok has said Scotland's entry to the EU could be a speedy process.

Interesting if it did happen where would you put the hard border?

8.) 10 Feb 2019 16:07:57
Just south of Manchester brov. ; )

9.) 10 Feb 2019 20:47:17
How about a border just west of Edinburgh.

10.) 14 Feb 2019 17:44:09
The SNP are doing a brilliant job. I had to spend a week in Edinburgh recently. Lots of deluded people up there.

{Ed033's Note - You're saying the SNP are successfully brainwashing Scottish people to think like the globalists want them to think?

11.) 15 Feb 2019 12:26:52
hi Kim, deluded how brother?

{Ed033's Note - KimPhilby is female.

12.) 15 Feb 2019 22:44:46
KP claims to be female amongst other things. We have no way to verify his/ her claims about who he/ she is Ed033.

13.) 16 Feb 2019 09:16:38
Sorry if I got that wrong Kim, no disrespect intended.

14.) 16 Feb 2019 20:50:08
Maybe a shill Rian perhaps 😂.

15.) 20 Feb 2019 17:03:14
Yes ed33 that is correct.

No offence taken Duccablue.

Its an internet chat forum. The whole is anonymity Rian. Anyone on here could be anyone. If it wasn't for the anonymity most people wouldn't post on here at all. Of course I could put up my last gynaecology report if that helps.

Everybody you speak to in British politics today is suffering some form of delusion.

The hardline brexiteers for example think they can have no deal yet still negotiate fantastic deals where they get the best side.

The centre left labour remainers still think they can get the party leadership to back a second referendum although some are now coming around to reality.

The hard left labour supporters think that corbyn is going to sweep to power in a landslide.

The Scots nats can't see the irony in leaving one economic and political union only to then hand everything over to an even bigger economic and political union.

Its total chaos out there at the moment. Interesting times. Both main political parties are slowly shuffling to their eventual demise. Its what follows that's the concern.
