Little update from a weeks use of the skuma if anyone's interested. The family thought I was crazy for purchasing a water filter as they said there was nothing wrong with the tap water. That said no one is drinking the tap water and solely drinking the filtered water. I haven't tried the hot water function as I haven't purchased the coffe boost infusions for the machine as of yet but so far so good the water tastes much better the family is drinking far more water than before so I am pleased with the skuma. Hope this helps for anyone thinking of purchasing something for filtration of their tap water.

{Ed032's Note - Thanks for the information, p1. I am pleased to hear you and yours are enjoying the clean water. Be interesting to hear your review once you get the coffee. ?

As a side note I think the infusions might be a little expensive. I believe on subscribe and save they are £14.40 per bottle approx 60l of water,in which it seems we will use over 1 per month probably between 1 and 1.5. I'm not sure how they equates to other systems and using your own minerals etc. I've seen they are planning to release 3 more infusions to make 5 different types with more most likely in planning to be released at a later date. At the moment my only criticism as such is the cost of these infusion bottles but that maybe harsh compared to other systems im not aware of.

{Ed032's Note - Thanks, p1. I purchased the megahome-distillers infusions but I don't use them. I just put some lemon juice, apple cider vinegar (inc mother) and I will be adding a wee pinch of Celtic salts or, I drink it without adding anything. Some people say that drinking plain distilled water purges the body of elements, which is true, but only the inorganic elements you don't want any way.

I do sometimes use electrolyte tablets after a run, but not often. I'd rather know exactly what I am putting in my body and work out what it needs and when it needs it. The subject of health is a lifelong journey. The more you know the more you realise there is to know. The thing is, everyone is different. A beautiful thing bit it means everyone's bodies need slightly different amounts of things.

I am guessing, but the ROM is an 'om demand' tap?. This would be the only criticism I would have of a distiller, is the fact it runs for 4-5 hours. You can access the distilled water at anytime though.
