I think whoever trains the American military to be so stupid must surely be some sort of conspiracy. Watching black hawk down and its amazing the arrogance, incompetence and stupidity. If that had been Russian or British army it would have been over in 30 minutes. How on earth do they have this reputation of military prowess. Just explaining to mr philby the errors in their tactical doctrine.

As someone in the military myself working along side the yanks, I have seen first hand their stupidity and naivety. They have absolutely no subtlety in their methods either.

Its the whole thing of as soon as they hit trouble they dig in to return fire but then become static and pinned down. Like in black hawk down. The British army is trained to find the weak point and force their way through. The Russian army just takes it head on takes the casualties and forces their way through. The Americans by going static invited more casualties. Bad tactical doctrine.

Battle tactics is not something the establishment would wish to accurately analyze for the purpose of teaching their troops. I'm not talking just about the USA here.

The military teaches limited tactical variability under hierarchical departmentalization in order for their troops to only be operational while executing orders. Like the slaves troops of old their purposefully low battle efficiency serves their masters in case they eventually decide to question their orders and set their own path.

In guerilla warfare small independent groups identify their own targets and execute their own missions without any need for oversight. They do not rely on technology which makes them hard to locate, the little equipment they rely on allows them maneuverability and a much larger area of action, they are not taught to protect assets and preserve structures so they are mostly unpredictable.

If all troops were trained in guerilla tactics when they returned home from offensive wars and eventually reflected on their actions and the motives of those who were issuing their orders, they would turn against their governments with devastating results.
