The new style lotto kicks off this week with more numbers to chose from and a free lucky dip for those getting just 2 numbers, my prediction is we will get a few rollovers building up a big jackpot that will surprise surprise be won by a person with the new free lucky dip ticket :-)
Every time they change something its an instant success, strange that :-)

Just a quick question when you see clips on YouTube of UFOs supposedly happened over Britain and they show our news reporting on these stories why don't I recognise any of the TV presenters as news readers we normally see, sometimes it will have BBC news written underneath or similar but I'm yet to see a presenter/reporter I know.
The foreign channels from the where the story is supposed to be unloaded from looks very real as do the UK bits too but Its not people in familiar with seeing on our news?

1.) 08 Oct 2015 11:57:09
Regional presenters? If you lived in the east midland region you wouldn't be familiar with Scottish newsreaders.

2.) 08 Oct 2015 19:08:27
True but some of the stuff I've seen and found extremely interesting I can't help but think would have made national news not just local, its difficult to understand why it would be broadcast world wide but only regionally in the UK.
Obviously surprising the story doesn't cover it because its hardly a secret

{Ed033's Note - The way the mainstream news works in UK is that they are told which stories have been approved by MI4 for national news so if it's not on the national news list it doesn't get on there.

3.) 08 Oct 2015 20:00:48
As someone who feels the chances of their not being life on other planets pretty remote and it extremely possible that at least a few of them would be more advanced than us so I'm very interested in this and a few other subjects alone similar lines so am in no way trying to deliberately debunk the footage or its integrity but surely if a story was suppressed nationally it would make sense to stop it going regional and there for world wide.

{Ed033's Note - it makes perfect sense that they cannot allow just any story to go national, they couldn't allow that. So national stories go on a list and if the story is not on the list it can't go national on mainstream media.

That doesn't mean to say that they wouldn't allow a UFO story to go national because there appears to be an agenda to slowly desensitise everyone to think there is a possibility of ETs.

4.) 08 Oct 2015 20:27:51
Me and a mate were talking about the possibility of alien's coming to earth and he said "I hope not ' I asked why and he said, "because if they do there's only two things they want us for, food or slaves"
I thought well possibly he could be right but I'm a little more optimistic about things if and when it ever happens.

Kids company charity suddenly had problems of child abuse! Really?
Bit convenient that just as the funding is pulled.
If it really happened, shame on those responsible, but if it didn't, every bit as much shame on those who use this vile accusation as a smoke screen.

gunner62

{Ed033's Note - UK Column talked about this on the Uk Column August 6th program for a few minutes

It’s is speculation at this time but it appears that Camilla Batmanghelidjh (who is part of Common Purpose), a few months back was either told to or decided it would be a good idea to protect herself now Yew Tree is in operation, to put a list of names forward who she was aware of as abusing children at or associated with Kids Company.

If some of these names are too hot to handle then this is going to spark off trouble for Kids Company as we’ve seen.

1.) 07 Aug 2015 14:55:51
the whole thing stinks , I think the charity has always known about the vip abuse but know they are running around like sewer rats trying to cover themselves because this ain't going away.

{Ed033's Note - i suppose it will interesting if the names come out, how high up the chain they are.

2.) 07 Aug 2015 16:47:25
seen a interview on RT with exaro news who broke it to msn said there is more shocking news to come out, including old members of parliament and current members. he also said they have strong evidence that police have took seriously about the murder of three children.

how high it goes? well the timing of heath abuse came a day after ken clark was named by a 14 year old boy about abuse , so they are still trying to protect him.

3.) 07 Aug 2015 21:18:42
Isn't there also some financial irregularities as well?

{Ed033's Note - There's always financial irregularities when anything is associated with uk government. if the financial irregularities get pushed by the mainstream media and not the abuse, i guess the names of the abusers really are too hot to handle.

4.) 07 Aug 2015 22:20:28
True of all governments, they're all corrupt. I don't know much on this case just seen the headlines whilst packing. Early start.

5.) 07 Aug 2015 22:39:49
Ah franky, you think they're sacrificing a dead man (who can't answer) for a living one.

You have a devious mind, sure your not Russian?

{Ed033's Note - for those that don't know, Ken Clarke was apparently on the 'Steering' committee of Bilderberg so ordinarily you might think he's at the untouchable level, but it could be you need to be at a higher level now to be an untouchable.

6.) 08 Aug 2015 01:25:36
yeah edd I get that impression. his power in parliament ended 10+ years ago so I do not think he's as valuable as he thought he was.

Russian kim? no but I do like vodka.

7.) 09 Aug 2015 10:31:28
Ken Clarke always seemed a bit of a political oddity. A pro Europe tory at a time when the majority of his party was and remains anti Europe. Of course another famous pro Europe tory was ted heath.

8.) 09 Aug 2015 10:31:44
Who doesn't like vodka?

{Ed001's Note - me.}

9.) 09 Aug 2015 12:51:41
Shocking. But you've reminded me to hit the duty free.

{Ed001's Note - hehehe I have never enjoyed any alcoholic drink, they all taste rank to me. Give me a cup of tea any day.}

10.) 09 Aug 2015 13:33:30
Fair enough. I enjoy a nice tea as well, not constantly on the vodka, its just sometimes nice to have a small bottle whilst putting on some music, reminds me of home. Have you ever used a samovar?

{Ed001's Note - I am not even sure what one is. If I want a reminder of home, that is what the footie is for.}

11.) 09 Aug 2015 17:46:59
Its for heating water so you can make tea. It uses slow burning full like charcoal. You can use pine cones as well.

Its nice to get a good pot, a small bottle of vodka, put on some music like Shostakovich, Prokofiev or Tchaikovsky.

Not a football person. Keep an eye on spartak for old times sake. Prefer tennis or cricket.

{Ed001's Note - oh ok, I prefer a kettle, I drink so much tea I don't want to wait long for the next one to brew, or the mug might get cold.....}

12.) 09 Aug 2015 21:00:48
In fact as todays the anniversary of Shostakovich's death I shall be brewing up shortly, perhaps with the Seventh Symphony.

13.) 09 Aug 2015 20:58:10
Ah but you have to keep boiling a kettle, a samovar remains hot constantly, if you have a large enough one you can make several cups just for yourself over a few hours. Much more civilized.

{Ed001's Note - few hours? I drink several cups an hour....}

14.) 10 Aug 2015 07:59:48
Well personal preference. Russian tea is quite different.

{Ed001's Note - I will have to try some.}

15.) 10 Aug 2015 11:00:44
I wouldn't recommend the cigarettes though. Quite strong.

{Ed001's Note - I don't smoke, so I certainly wouldn't be trying them.}

16.) 10 Aug 2015 13:09:49
Me neither but my father did. Said you needed them to keep awake in the snow on sentry duty.

Regards tea u would suggest Russian caravan, its the most famous. You heat some up in a teapot on the top of your samovar, then each person can add as much of the concentrate as you need depending on if you like it weak or strong, then you add the hot water from the samovar. A good sized pot should last you awhile and remains hot because of the samovar. Only takes 5 minutes to warm up do you can get a constant cycle if needed. You can even buy electric samovars now. Back in the day if we had no charcoal I was sent out with one of my brothers and the rifle to gather pinecones.

{Ed001's Note - was that during the war by any chance Kim? ;o)

17.) 10 Aug 2015 16:49:11
My father yes, Stalingrad through to Berlin.

Myself and my brother, no this was the 60's. Just in case of wolves. Good teacher though.

Hard winters.

{Ed001's Note - just checking.}

18.) 10 Aug 2015 21:33:10
Cheeky

{Ed001's Note - =o) cheek is a big part of my lack of charm....

By the way, just noticed something, you don't like football, so how did you find this site in the first place? Most people come here via our footie sites.}

19.) 11 Aug 2015 08:02:13
Google. Was looking for something on conspiracies. I was looking something up and this was one of the links.

{Ed001's Note - ah ok cheers. Was just interested as obviously our main base comes from the football sites. Thanks for the info.}

20.) 11 Aug 2015 13:26:01
Your welcome. Never really been a fan of sports in general. Used to play tennis and most of the other racquet based games, needed to stay in shape for all these western fashions, with the big shoulder pads. Got into cricket a bit.

{Ed001's Note - I will never understand how you could get into cricket, unless you have problems with insomnia.....}

21.) 11 Aug 2015 13:46:33
It was a good meeting place. There was a wonderful sense of irony in corrupting the British establishment at a place like Lords. I have found the recent games with australia thoroughly compelling. Also I've gotten into cycling recently with the tour de France.

{Ed001's Note - I can understand the reasoning for going there, but not the enjoyment of the game. It makes paint drying seem exciting. I have never minded cycling to take part in it, but watching it? It is just not interesting to watch to me. I suppose it is not so bad in a quick highlights show on TV, but the actual events, dire. Motor racing I love watching on TV, but that sucks live too. What sports are big in Russia itself? Every country seems to have particular sports that stand out as particularly popular, so what stands out in Russia?}

22.) 11 Aug 2015 16:50:44
Cycling you get to see all the different scenery. Cricket is quintessentially English. And my namesake was a big fan.

Winter sports obviously, skiing, ice hockey, anything involving ice and snow. Tennis as we do have a few players around especially in the women's game, football obviously as well but its a summer game of course due to the winters, don't think the overpaid prima donnas could handle January in Sverdlovsk or Omsk. Chess is popular, again lot of Russian grand masters.

{Ed001's Note - ah yeah, Russian winters are famous, so I suppose that was obvious. You sound like you admire your namesake, I have to admit I know little about him personally.}

23.) 11 Aug 2015 21:11:45
The winters are terrible, makes me laugh how you have an inch and England grinds to a halt. Survival training was nasty. But the snow hid the dirt.

There were several sports clubs in the soviet era, most famous dynamo, as in Moscow, Kiev, Minsk etc. The army team was cska, the nkvd team was spartak.

As for Philby yes here he's a traitor but I think to play a role for 30 years took a lot. A nice man even if he was treated shabbily.

I needed a name and it was that or famous cosmonauts, who can be difficult to pronounce, or Sophie scholl but thought she'd be too obscure.

{Ed001's Note - I had to look up Sophie Scholl to be honest. Despite my family's interest in history, particularly the Second World War (which my uncle is currently helping with historical advice on the film Anthropoid, and got himself a few roles as an extra in it too), I did not know who she was. Though I had heard of the White Rose.

Winters in the UK are a joke. It is embarrassing how dumb people can be about the weather, even though it is around them every day of their life.

See I don't see people as traitors, as I personally do not think of patriotism as anything other than what it is. A concept invented by medieval kings to get the peasants to fight in their wars. So someone believing a different master would be better, well that is just a choice that I might not agree with, but I certainly do not think it should be seen as such a bad thing. But then, if people began choosing their masters freely, we might end up with ones that treat us all well, and no one wants that do they?}

24.) 12 Aug 2015 08:01:24
Philby made his choice based on ideology. He recognised the flaws in capitalism and thought communism was the better way. In principle it is, in practice it isn't because Marx was only concerned with the economic side of things and forgot human nature.

But the best ones are the ones who do it for principle, ideology, they believe something. The worst are the ones in it for money, personal gain drives a lot of people (Marx didn't take that into consideration) and then you have those after the glory, seen too many James Bond films, have a need to show there a hero. Like our friend Putin.

I am a patriot. Its too deeply ingrained. The other night watching Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy the anthem came on and I was half way out of my seat.

Regards Sophie scholl she's pretty much unknown in Britain so I wasn't surprised but at least you knew the white rose. Again its that courage of conviction, she knew the end result yet did it anyway.

{Ed001's Note - yeah I do admire people who stick to their principles, even if they are not principles I agree with. I also agree communism will never work, just like socialism, because of human nature. It can work on a small scale, like the village my parents live in. Marinaleda it is called in Spain, and they have a mayor there who runs the village on communist principles. It works there right now, but as soon as he is no longer in charge, well you just know it will fall victim to personal greed.}

25.) 12 Aug 2015 11:01:15
I was never one of the hard liners, back 91 I was in the Gorbachev camp of economic reforms and less centralisation. My boss was a hardliner and one of the gang of 8. That was a heated discussion. I kept myself out of things as I know it wouldn't work but then we got Yeltsin instead. And then Putin.

It does work on a small scale but the problem is someone will always envy what someone else has, someone will always try to cheat the system so they get more and power will always corrupt.

There's a che Guevara quote I'm trying to remember, might need to pay google a visit, about true socialism.

{Ed001's Note - shame but humanity is its own worst enemy.}

26.) 12 Aug 2015 17:29:28
It is indeed. I have enjoyed this chat.

{Ed001's Note - it was interesting, and I learnt something, which is always a bonus. Thanks Kim.}

27.) 12 Aug 2015 20:55:11
Your welcome, one is never too old to learn. Samovars' and Sophie school? Or Russian sports?

Have you ever considered a holiday to Russia?

28.) 13 Aug 2015 16:42:09
As your interested in world war two history have you ever looked at the role of women in the red army?

{Ed001's Note - oddly enough I have read a few things. Just the other day I was listening to a history podcast about the women bomber squadron, I think they were known as 'witches' or something like that. I completely forget now, as it was on in the background while I was editing. I just remember them talking about how they used to fly out of date planes and cut the engines before gliding in to drop the bombs so the Germans had no warnings.}

29.) 13 Aug 2015 17:59:49
Yes quite scary though. There was an all woman tank as well I seem to remember and some famous women snipers.

{Ed001's Note - there are quite a few stories from Stalingrad I seem to recall. How were they seen in Russia? Were they feted or ignored?}

30.) 13 Aug 2015 22:20:47
Originally it was tough, there was sexism of course and other incidents in mixed units. Then the propaganda machine realised it could milk it so some were feted. A number did win our highest decoration. So it was a bit of a mix. They come in and out of vogue I suppose but as a girl growing up there was only really them and cosmonauts like Valentina Tereshkova to look up to.

Stalingrad was hell. The film Enemy at the Gates is mostly realistic especially at the start. My fathers unit went in with a rifle for every 3 man.

31.) 14 Aug 2015 15:05:09
I also believe congratulations are in order.

{Ed001's Note - thank you Kim, do Russian women buy a new hat for a wedding as well? Or is it a British thing?}

32.) 14 Aug 2015 16:49:14
Any excuse to visit the shops is a good thing. It has been many years since I've been to a Russian wedding so things have probably changed. My own was all a blur.

{Ed001's Note - I can think of little worse than shopping!}

33.) 14 Aug 2015 17:20:17
Depends what your shopping for. I'm now at the stage where its more funerals than weddings.

{Ed001's Note - my idea of shopping is to get in grab what I want and get out quick.}

34.) 14 Aug 2015 19:45:10
Ah I like a good wonder around.

{Ed001's Note - I like a good wander round too, just not in the shops unless it is games or techy stuff. Otherwise I am happier looking at the aquarium and stuff when I go to the mall.}

In my opinion on a scale of A-Z, if you take everything written in the English language as all we know, we are still at A.
The more we learn to use all our senses and brains the more open to things we will become.
Just my opinion mind you.

{Ed033's Note - Yes, all humans seem to be young babies who don't know hardly anything yet. That includes all the elites as well. Ed002 maybe the exception.
